About

Empty Nesters on the go

The house is quiet, the birds have flown, and the fridge is finally staying full. For some, this is a time for stillness. For us, it’s the signal to start the engine.

Welcome to Taste and Transit, a digital journal dedicated to the art of traveling well and eating even better. After years of school schedules, soccer practices, and “what’s for dinner” marathons, we’ve traded the minivan for a boarding pass and the family-sized casserole for local delicacies we can’t pronounce yet.

Why Taste and Transit?

We believe that the best way to understand a new culture is through its kitchen, and the best way to find that kitchen is to keep moving. Whether it’s a high-speed rail through the French countryside or a slow stroll through a hidden spice market in Marrakech, we are on a mission to find the intersection of extraordinary flavors and effortless movement.

What You’ll Find Here:

  • The Transit: Curated travel guides that prioritize comfort and curiosity. We’re over the hostels, but we’re not quite ready for the rocking chair. We focus on mid-to-luxury travel that values the journey as much as the destination.
  • The Taste: From Michelin-starred menus to the legendary street food stall that only opens at midnight. If it’s authentic and delicious, we’re finding it.
  • The Lifestyle: Tips for navigating this new “empty nest” chapter with grace, humor, and a suitcase that’s always half-packed.

Life is Short. Eat the Dessert. Take the Trip.

We aren’t just “vacationing”—we are reclaiming our sense of wonder. We’ve spent decades building a home; now, we’re making the world our backyard.

So, grab a glass of wine (or a passport) and join us. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover and even more plates to clear.
